Depending on what your sex toy is made of will determine how you should care and clean it.
Remember to always remove the batteries before you begin cleaning. Your sex toy should be cleaned after every use, and if you are sharing with more than one person we recommend using a condom. As strange as it may sound, the simplest way to keep your sex toy clean is to use a condom.
Plastic Sex Toys:
Plastic is a non-porous material therefore it is one of the easiest toys to clean. All you need is a wet wash cloth, toy cleaner, mild soap or rubbing alcohol. Usually plastic vibrators are not water proof so never clean it by holding it under running water, simply use a damp cloth.
Latex Sex Toys:
Latex is also non-porous. Just use a mild soap and warm water to clean thoroughly. Remember to use a water-based lubricant.
Jelly Sex Toys:
Jellies are made from a soft, translucent, flexible substance. This material is a non-porous form of rubber but is much more delicate. When cleaning your jelly, a toy cleaner is preferred but you can also use a mild soap like dove or even face soap with water. Never throw it in the dishwasher or boil it! Stay away from harsh soaps with chemicals, or rubbing/cleaning alcohol. Last, always use a water-based lubricant. Oil-based lubricants will dissolve the jelly material.
CyberSkin, UR3, and Futurotic Sex Toys:
These materials are extremely porous, making it difficult to clean and easy for germs and dirt to hide. So protect them with a condom. Skin-like materials are extremely sensitive; they should be cleaned before and after every use with warm water and toy cleaner or antibacterial soap. These toys come dusted in a powdery material to maintain their unique texture, clean the toy thoroughly before first use. After each use, clean again and dust with a little cornstarch (not TALC which has been linked to cervical cancer) before storing to prevent the toy from becoming sticky. They should be stored individually in a dark, cool place. Store each toy separately in a plastic zip bag or thin sock because the porous surface can absorb dyes from other materials. These materials are also very incompatible with many substances. Contact with silicone-based lubricants, oil or petroleum based products will cause damages to the surface of the toy. Use only water based lubricants.
Silicone Sex Toys:
Silicone, like plastic is non-porous and easy to clean. Silicone is one next to cyberskin with is soft, life like feel. To clean just use hot soapy water. Never use a silcone based lube with silicone toys as this will cause the materials to bond and destroy the toy.
Glass & Acrylic Sex Toys:
Glass and acrylic are the easiest adult sex toys to clean, their non-porous and durable material can be cleaned using the dishwasher, soap, rubbing alcohol, or an adult toy cleaner. It can also be sterilized by boiling for 3 minutes. Suggestions
